Subject: Westminster Candidates Debate

Dear Sir,

It was drawn to my attention last evening following a canvass of Lower Ballinderry by one of my canvass team that there is to be a debate this evening concerning the proposed Rose Energy incinerator in Glenavy. This was as a result of my colleague being handed a leaflet by a constituent that had been deposited through his door advertising the meeting.

On perusing your website, I learned that indeed my name is listed as one of the panel to appear at the meeting. I would stress that to date I have never received any form of notification or invitation to attend to discuss this or any other matter. Furthermore notwithstanding the fact that the organisers have not extended an invitation, even upon becoming aware of the event, you will appreciate that at such a late stage I am unable to squeeze it into what is an extremely busy campaign schedule

I trust there will be no adverse inference drawn from my absence.
